AMBLER, Sept. 21 – State Rep. Melissa Cerrato said she congratulates Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary for achieving National Blue Ribbon School status. The school was one of 13 schools in the commonwealth selected as a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. This award is based on each school’s overall academic performance, or the progress made to close the achievement gap among students. “National Blue Ribbon Schools not only attract new growth in our neighborhoods, but they help grow the future leaders of Pennsylvania and beyond right from our backyard,” Cerrato said. “I’m so proud of Gwynedd-Mercy and its staff and students. Their hard work reflects highly on our community.” The National Blue Ribbon Schools award recognizes the efforts made by schools to create safe and welcoming spaces where students can master challenging and engaging content. More information about the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program can be found on its website. Read more
