I hope you are doing well and enjoying the beginning of the summer season. I am reaching out with several updates that I am truly excited to share, beginning with an important legislative milestone.
I am very pleased to let you know that House Bill 2429, which I introduced to address growing energy needs across Pennsylvania, has officially passed the House. This is an important step forward for families, businesses, and communities throughout the Commonwealth.
As electricity demand continues to rise, many people are feeling the pressure of higher monthly utility bills. At the same time, our energy grid is being asked to support more diverse resources than ever before. This combination makes it essential for us to adopt practical and realistic solutions that will keep our energy system reliable while also encouraging innovation.
|
House Bill 2429 aims to do exactly that. The bill gives energy developers clearer and earlier insight into where new projects can connect to the grid. Today, many developers spend months and sometimes years planning a project only to learn later that connecting to the grid will be more complicated or more costly than expected. By making this information easier to access at the beginning, we can significantly reduce delays, lower development costs, and increase the likelihood that promising new energy projects will actually be built.
Over time, this will help improve the reliability of our grid and support long-term efforts to stabilize energy costs for consumers. It is not a single solution to every challenge we face, but it is a meaningful and necessary step toward an energy future that works for everyone.

In addition to this legislative progress, I had a truly wonderful time in the community last week at Horsham Day. The event was filled with energy and enthusiasm from start to finish. It was great to see neighbors, local families, and friends enjoying the activities, catching up, and showing so much pride in our community.

One of the highlights of the day for me was serving as a judge for Horsham Idol. The performers brought tremendous talent to the stage, and their excitement was contagious. Each performance made me smile, and I was genuinely impressed by the courage and creativity on display. Community events like this remind me how lucky I am to represent such a vibrant and engaged area.

I also had the pleasure of welcoming four college students from across the Commonwealth to my Capitol office. One of them was my former intern Eddie, who is now studying at Penn State Harrisburg. It was wonderful to see him continuing to grow and pursue his goals.
During our time together, we discussed the issues that matter most to them, from affordability and education to emerging career opportunities and the future of Pennsylvania’s workforce. Each student brought forward thoughtful ideas and unique perspectives, and our conversations were both energetic and deeply meaningful.

Meeting with young people who are eager to make a difference is always one of the most inspiring parts of my work. Their insight reminds me that the decisions we make today must be made with future generations firmly in mind. Their passion and commitment give me tremendous optimism about the direction of our state.
Thank you, as always, for taking the time to stay informed and engaged. I am grateful for you and for the privilege of representing you. I look forward to sharing more updates and continuing these conversations in the weeks ahead.
