Solomon helps secure and provide more than 200 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to Northeast Philadelphia residents

In his ongoing effort to protect his communities from the coronavirus, state Rep. Jared Solomon today connected more than 200 eligible individuals in Northeast Philadelphia with the COVID-19 vaccine.

“Since the beginning of this pandemic, my priority is and has always been to put the health and safety of the people I serve and their families first. Today’s event is just a reflection of that commitment,” said Solomon, D-Phila. “From frontline workers to our most vulnerable populations, like our seniors, the vaccine is a critical step in building real immunity to COVID-19, reopening the economy safely and moving us closer to the way life was before this health crisis.”

Solomon said he teamed up with SunRay Drugs to secure 250 doses of the vaccine, which was then provided at Kinder Academy to people who qualify for Phase 1A or 1B of Philadelphia’s COVID-19 distribution plan, including seniors 75 or older.

“I am fortunate to work with community partners like SunRay Drugs, who share my dedication to assist our neighbors through this crisis safely,” Solomon explained. “Moving forward, I will continue working with them along with other groups to provide the critical resources and information that residents and small businesses need now more than ever.”

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Solomon has teamed up with various organizations and local leaders to secure and distribute free food and hundreds of masks to help feed and protect those in need and to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
