Rusnock commences first term as state representative

HARRISBURG, Jan. 7 – State Rep. Jacklyn Rusnock took the oath of office in Harrisburg today, beginning her first term serving the 126th Legislative District.

"I am honored to have earned the trust of my community to serve as their state representative. This is a responsibility I take very seriously, and I am ready to work hard every day to deliver results for the people of Berks County,” Rusnock said. “As I take this first step into public office, I remain committed to being a strong voice for our community and working tirelessly to address the issues that matter most to my constituents. Together, we can build a brighter future for everyone.”

She said some of the key issues facing her district that she’s adopted as her legislative priorities include affordable housing, educational equity, creating safer communities and environmental protections.

Rusnock is one of five new Democratic members in the majority caucus.

Today’s oath of office ceremony was administered by Pennsylvania Supreme Court Chief Justice Debra Todd and the invocation was given by Bishop Maureen L. Davis.

There is a total of 203 members elected every two years, in even-numbered years. Each member represents approximately 64,000 residents.
