Speaker Rozzi announces next stops in statewide listening tour

Public and interested groups invited to give input

HARRISBURG, Jan. 28 – Speaker of the House Mark Rozzi today announced the next two stops in his statewide listening tour. The third tour stop will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, at the Eric J. Barron Innovation Hub, 123 S. Burrowes St. in State College. The fourth and final tour stop will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, in the Snyder Room on the Third Floor of the Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center of Kings College, 116 N. Main St. in Wilkes-Barre.

Rozzi will be joined by members of the bipartisan Speaker’s Workgroup to Move Pennsylvania Forward, a group of six House members convened to create bipartisan operating rules for the House and work to break partisan gridlock in Harrisburg to swiftly address justice for survivors of sexual assault.

The Speaker and House members will be joined by representatives from interested groups and survivors of childhood sexual assault to discuss how to improve House operations and the importance of providing the opportunity for survivors of childhood sexual assault to get the justice they deserve. The public is also invited and will be able to speak during a public comment period at the end of the session.

Anyone interested in participating is encouraged to register for a speaking slot on the Listening Tour site. While there may be slots available the day of the event, pre-registrants will have priority.
