E-Waste Event this Saturday!

Dear Friends,

I hope you have all been doing well! There has been a lot going on in the district recently, and I have some important news I’d like to share!

PECO rescinded their proposal to increase rates! I was proud to stand alongside the other four Bucks County Democratic State Representatives when we organized a public response mere hours after the proposal was submitted. I am even more proud of the nearly 1,000 Bucks County residents who signed our petition and made their voices heard. As legislators, it is our responsibility to stand up against corporate greed and fight for affordability.

In this e-newsletter, I will be sharing details about upcoming events, places I have visited in the district, and more! As always, if you need help with any state-related issue, feel free to reply to this email or call my office at 215-943-7206.

Free E-Waste Event with Sen. Santarsiero’s Office

On Saturday, April 25 my office and the office of Sen. Steve Santarsiero are hosting a free e-waste recycling event & food drive at Pennsbury High School West (608 S Olds Blvd, Fairless Hills).

BREAKING: Major Win for Pennsylvania Consumers

Last week, Governor Josh Shapiro announced that PECO — Pennsylvania’s largest utility company — will withdraw its proposed rate increase before the Public Utility Commission.

This means NO new hikes on electricity and natural gas bills for 1.7 million residents across southeastern Pennsylvania.

Thank you to Governor Shapiro for standing up for everyday Pennsylvanians, and thank you to everyone who signed the petition that the Bucks County Democratic House Delegation put together!

Protect Pennsylvania Renters

Rent is out of control and Pennsylvanians are paying the price.

That’s why Rep. Nancy Guenst, D-Hatboro, and I introduced H.B. 914 to put commonsense limits on how much landlords can raise rent each year. This bill would help stop unjustified spikes and take a real first step toward making housing more affordable for working people and their families.

If you want this bill to reach the House floor for a vote, call your state representative (if it isn't me), and call the Chair of the Housing and Community Development Committee, Representative Brandon Markosek, at (717) 772-4511!

Falls Township Senior Center Tour

Recently, I had the opportunity to speak to some constituents at the Falls Township Senior Center!

The Senior Center is a linchpin of our community, providing help and resources to our local senior citizens. I look forward to stopping by again on May 1 for their Health Fair!

Child Advocacy Breakfast

Recently, I attended the Pennsylvania Association for the Education of Young Children's Annual Child Advocacy Breakfast. This year, the focus of the breakfast was tackling the issue of recruitment and retention in childcare.

Childcare workers have difficult, often thankless jobs and deserve to be compensated for the hard work they do every day.

That is why I proudly voted for H.B. 506, which would support the childcare workforce through recruitment and retention bonuses for licensed childcare providers participating in the Child Care Works program. I will always be a strong supporter of this vital industry and its selfless workers.
