On April 14 Senator Lindsey Williams and Representative Jessica Benham, along with Chairs Muth and Bizzarro, are holding a joint policy hearing on neurodiversity-affirming education. The hearing will raise awareness of the need to create public schools that are affirming, inclusive, and safe for neurodivergent students. Too many of Pennsylvania’s neurodivergent students attend schools with committed but under-resourced educators that operate within systems and school cultures of compliance and exclusion. This timely conversation will advance an expansive vision of education where all students and educators have the resources they need and benefit from state and local policies that foster school environments that are affirming, inclusive, and safe for neurodivergent students.
This hearing will be held at the PFT 400 building (10 S 19th St. Pittsburgh, PA 15203)
