Pennsylvania Hemp Production

Hemp has at least 25,000 unique, known uses, meaning that it has potential to be a thriving avenue for jobs and economic benefit in Pennsylvania’s agricultural sector. With the Department of Agriculture having issued 250 licenses for growers in 2022, lawmakers will host a hearing to understand how best to build the capacity of Pennsylvania’s hemp industry while generating income opportunities for our farms.

Rep. Danilo Burgos, D-Phila, will host the Democratic Policy Committee, Chaired by Rep. Bizzarro, and other members of the State House to hear from hemp producers, product growing and legal experts, and advocates. The hearing will take place on Monday, May 9, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in The Lenfest Center, 3890 N. 10^th St., Philadelphia.
