Pashinski announces funding for projects in his legislative district

WILKES-BARRE, Aug. 20 -- State Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski today announced that PennDOT has released funding from the Multimodal Transportation Fund for two crucial projects in his legislative district, underscoring the value and importance of these initiatives to the community.

The projects receiving Multimodal Transportation Fund investments include:

•           Bear Creek Village Borough - $189,536

•           City of Wilkes-Barre - $360,000

The $189,536 for Bear Creek Village will go toward improvements on Route 115. The $360,000 will go to the city of Wilkes-Barre for pedestrian safety and ADA accessibility improvements to South Main Street.

“One of my top priorities is to ensure the safety of our roads and streets,” said Pashinski, D-Luzerne. “The funding received for Route 115 will significantly enhance the safety of this road for all its users. Similarly, the pedestrian safety and ADA accessibility improvements for South Main Street will provide a safe walking environment for everyone. In addition, I want to thank Senator Marty Flynn and Senator David Argall for their continued efforts and collaboration in securing these much-needed funds.”

“When I visited Bear Creek Village Borough with Representative Pashinski earlier this year, I saw firsthand how dangerous this intersection is for both drivers and pedestrians,” said Argall. “Thanks to this highly competitive state grant, the long-awaited project to make this road safer for all is now ready to begin.”
