Donahue sworn in for second term in Pennsylvania House of Representatives

HARRISBURG, Jan. 7 – State Rep. Kyle Donahue was sworn in today to begin his second term serving the residents of the 113th Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

“It is the honor of my life to represent my friends and neighbors from every corner of the 113th District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives,” said Donahue, D-Lackawanna. “I look forward to continuing the work of providing for an equitable and quality public education for every child; to fight for affordable and accessible health care; to ensure our senior citizens have the opportunity to live out their lives with respect and dignity; and to ensure that all our communities are safe and strong.”

The oath of office was administered by Pennsylvania Supreme Court Chief Justice Debra Todd, and the opening prayer was spoken by state Rep. Regina Young.

Pennsylvania’s 209th legislative session began in the spirit of bipartisanship when Democrats and Republicans came together to elect State Rep. Joanna E. McClinton, D-Delaware/Phila., as speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

There is a total of 203 members elected every two years, in even-numbered years. Each member represents approximately 64,000 residents.
