HARRISBURG, Feb. 26 – State Rep. Josh Siegel released the following statement today in response to the announcement that the Allentown Neighborhood Improvement Zone finances will be examined by a PA legislative committee:
“I am beyond confident that any audit of the Neighborhood Improvement Zone will show its transformative impact of the Lehigh Valley and Allentown through increased revenue, economic development, and job creation.
“Furthermore, I am disappointed in Senator (Jarrett) Coleman’s continued fixation on an ultimately redundant and unnecessary audit as the NIZ is already subject to a publicly available audit. I encourage the senator to productively engage with the rest of the Lehigh Valley delegation on more productive endeavors that continue to make the Lehigh Valley a prosperous and desirable place to live and focus on serving his constituents in the 16th Senatorial District.”
Siegel represents the 22nd Legislative District where the majority of the NIZ is located.
