Probst announces $233K in state grants

HARRISBURG, Dec. 19 – State Rep. Tarah Probst welcomes $233,531 in state grants that were approved today by the Commonwealth Financing Authority for groups in her legislative district.

“I am always thankful when communities that I represent are able to reap the benefits of state grant programs that otherwise might be spent elsewhere in Pennsylvania,” said Probst, D-Monroe/Pike. “That thanks is also extended to my leadership team and the CFA for recognizing the importance that this funding will play for these organizations.”

Probst said the Smithfield Sewer Authority will receive $134,343 for a sanitary sewer extension along Ash Lane and Holly Lane in Smithfield Township.

Probst said the Pocono Environmental Education Center was awarded $40,385 to help offset loss revenue and for operating expenses for the Science and Technology Center located in Lehman Township.

The Fine Arts Discovery Series Inc., doing business as the Sherman Theatre in Stroudsburg, will receive $58,793 to help fund its operating costs.

Funds distributed through the PA Arts and Culture Recovery Program provide grants to nonprofit arts and culture organizations located in the commonwealth. Act 54 of 2022 appropriated $15 million of American Rescue Plan Act funds to the COVID-19 ARPA PA Arts and Culture Recovery Program.
