Probst posts petition to scale back I-80 project

STROUDSBURG, Nov. 16 – In 48 hours, more than 800 Stroudsburg-area residents have signed a petition posted by state Rep. Tarah Probst that asks PennDOT and Gov. Josh Shapiro to scale back the proposed expansion of Interstate 80.

“Coming off last week’s town hall meeting that I hosted at Stroudsburg High School, I knew that we needed to do more to get PennDOT and the governor’s office to listen to our concerns. I encourage affected residents and business owners to sign the petition, and then I will deliver all the names to both offices so they are aware of our serious reservations about this project,” said Probst, D-Monroe/Pike.

“I recognize that we likely will not the stop the expansion from becoming a reality, but we need PennDOT officials to take into consideration the harmful circumstances that will be created if they proceed without making any changes to their plan.”

The petition is available on Probst’s website, www.RepProbst.com, and her social media @RepProbst or directly at https://bitly.ws/32jaY.
