Haddock applauds more than $1.8 million in roadway improvement funding
Rep. Jim Haddock August 24, 2023
HARRISBURG, Aug. 24 – State Rep. Jim Haddock today announced more than $1.8 million has been awarded to the community he represents to improve transportation and build roadway infrastructure.
The project will fund the development of a 138-acre business park – CenterPoint Commerce & Trade Park South – including a signal intersection, turning lanes, internal roadways, SR 2004 access road, road widening and a bus transit shelter.
“I have to thank Senator Marty Flynn along with Secretary of Transportation Mike Carroll and Governor Josh Shapiro for working on securing this funding and directing it to our community,” said Haddock. “Improving roadways and building new infrastructure will always be essential, as transporting goods on our local roads and highways is part of the community’s economic life. This will work to improve that essential function.
This grant was provided by the Multimodal Transportation Fund, which is intended to provide financial assistance to municipalities, councils of government, businesses, economic development organizations, public transportation agencies and ports and rail freight entities to improve transportation infrastructure that enhances communities, pedestrian safety and transit revitalization.
