Rep. Tarah Probst January 4, 2023
HARRISBURG, Jan. 4 – State Rep. Tarah Probst said she is pleased to see $52,725 in public safety funding awarded today to Delaware Water Gap Borough.
Probst said the municipality will use the money for the placement of three electronic radar speed-limit display signs.
“It’s important that we keep our roadways safe for vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians, and we are fortunate that these limited funds were provided to Delaware Water Gap based on criteria such as safety benefits and effectiveness, cost and local impact,” Probst said.
The project is one of 36 statewide that were approved for funding through PennDOT’s Automated Red-Light Enforcement Program, which is supplied by fines from red light violations at 36 intersections in Philadelphia. Municipalities submitted 151 applications, totaling $46 million in requests.
