STATE PROGRAMS NOW OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS:

Pennsylvania Office of Commonwealth Libraries: Keystone Grants for Public Library Facilities  (Funding Source: Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund)

Who May Apply: Local public libraries (state-aided). Must partner with a sponsoring municipality.
Use
: To plan, acquire, construct, or rehabilitate public library facilities including, but not limited to: ADA upgrades, new roof, replacement windows, energy efficient upgrades to HVAC systems, facility expansion and new construction. 

Funds
: Funding limits not yet announced. Grants require a dollar-for-dollar match; match may include cash, in-kind contributions, federal funds, and other state funds.

Letter of Interest
As soon as possible. Letters of interest are currently being accepted in anticipation of opening an application round this summer. The dates of the next application round are still being finalized.

Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency: FY 2021 Gun Violence Reduction Grants  (Funding Source: General Fund)          

Who May ApplyCommunity-based organizations and local units of government across the Commonwealth with the highest rates of gun violence.
Use
: Projects that lead to immediate impacts. Projects should not focus on upstream prevention or other long-term prevention models. Eligible activities include Safe Corridors/Safe Passages programs, which prevent incidents to/from school and other community centers; street outreach and violence interruption programs utilizing credible messengers; providing referrals to partner agencies focused on meeting basic needs of participants, including education, employment, health and other services; comprehensive re-entry programs for returning citizens; trauma-informed approaches to support victims and survivors of gun violence; and community-driven crime prevention through environmental design.

Funds
: Grants up to $225,000 for a 33-month period from October 1, 2021 through June 30, 2024.  $5 million is available statewide.

June 30 - Eligible entities can submit an initial request for funding utilizing an online SurveyMonkey form between now and June 30, 2021.

Department of Conservation and Natural Resources: Wild Resource Conservation Program  (Funding Source: Wild Resources Conservation Fund)          

Who May Apply: Counties, municipalities, educational institutions, 501(3) (c) nonprofits, conservation districts, municipal authorities, individuals, state government agencies and for-profit businesses.
Use
: Field research and on-the-ground conservation projects that protect Pennsylvania’s non-game animals, native plants and their habitat. Grant applications will be accepted in three areas: species surveys, conservation and management. Among this year’s grant priorities are surveys and projects focusing on edible and medicinal plants, effects of fire management on wildlife, the checkered sculpin fish, and plant genetics.

Funds
: Program will fund no more than 75% of a project’s total cost. 25% match required – can be cash or in-kind services.

Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection: Section 902 Recycling Implementation Grant  (Funding Source: Recycling Fund)

Who May Apply: Counties, cities, boroughs, incorporated towns, townships, home rule municipalities, councils of governments, consortiums or similar entities established by two or more municipalities.
Use
: To fund costs associated with developing and implementing a recycling program.

Funds
: 90% funding of approved recycling program costs, up to $350,000. Financially distressed communities may receive up to 100% funding of approved costs, not to exceed $350,000.

Application Deadline
: September 24 at 5 p.m. Pre-application conferences with DEP Regional Planning and Recycling Coordinators are required.

FEDERAL PROGRAMS NOW OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS:

U.S. Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime: OVC FY 2021 Fostering Resilience and Hope - Bridging the Gap Between Law Enforcement and the Community (Funding Source: Federal Funding)

Who May Apply: Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized); Private institutions of higher education; County governments; Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS; Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS; Municipalities; State governments; Public and State controlled institutions of higher education.
Use
: This program will support demonstration sites in implementing a hope-centered framework to 1) address trauma experienced by law enforcement and 2) build trust with the communities they serve. Eligible activities include training, capacity, advocacy, and outreach around Hope Theory as an organizing framework.

Funds
: Grants up to $1 million.  $4 million total available nationwide.

  • Resident-led groups in small cities and towns with populations of 2,500 to 30,000. - Startup funding to implement the Community Heart & Soul model.

U.S. Small Business Administration: Shuttered Venue Operators Grant: Until Funds Expended

  • Live venue operators or promoters; theatrical producers; live performing arts organization operators; museum operators; motion picture theater operators (including owners); talent representatives. - Payroll costs; rent payments; utility payments; scheduled mortgage payments; scheduled debt payments; worker protection expenditures; payments to independent contractors; administrative costs (including fees and licensing); state and local taxes and fees; operating leases in effect as of February 15, 2020; insurance payments; advertising, production transportation, and capital expenditures related to producing a theatrical or live performing arts production.
