McNeill pleased with $1 million transportation grant for Coplay Borough

HARRISBURG, Aug. 19 – State Rep. Jeanne McNeill said she’s thrilled to see a $1 million grant awarded today by PennDOT for road improvements in Coplay Borough.

“It’s not every day that our district is fortunate enough to receive a $1 million grant, but the drivers and pedestrians moving through Coplay will benefit from today’s announcement,” said McNeill, D-Lehigh. “I would like to thank the governor and PennDOT for recognizing how important this project is for our area.”

McNeill said the $1 million grant, provided through PennDOT’s Multimodal Transportation Fund, will be used by Coplay for pedestrian safety and traffic improvements to the main arteries in the borough.

The local project was one of 66 funded in 32 counties across Pennsylvania totaling $51 million.

The program is intended to provide financial assistance to municipalities, councils of governments, businesses, economic development organizations, public transportation agencies, and ports and rail freight entities to improve transportation assets that enhance communities, pedestrian safety, and transit revitalization.
