TELFORD, June 23 – Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5308 in Telford will receive $60,000 in state grant funding to support renovations to the post’s deteriorated parking lot, state Rep. Steve Malagari, D-Montgomery, announced today.
The funding will help improve safety, accessibility and the overall appearance of the facility, which serves local veterans, as well as a wide range of community organizations and events.
“Supporting our veterans means making sure they have safe and welcoming spaces to gather and serve the community,” Malagari said. “VFW Post 5308 plays an important role for many in our community. I’m proud to have helped secure this funding so the post can continue its mission and remain a hub for our veterans and community organizations for years to come.”
Members celebrated the promised improvements to accessibility and appearance in a check-signing presentation in May.
“This improvement will benefit both our members and the broader community by enhancing safety and improving the appearance and accessibility of our building,” said Commander Ron Joyce of Post 5308. “Representative Malagari’s support enables us to continue our mission of supporting veterans while also sustaining our partnerships with local organizations, including Scouts of America, youth baseball programs, and our monthly community breakfasts and bingo evenings.”
This grant was administered through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
