Malagari secures $50K DCED grant for Telford Borough Police Department

LANSDALE, Nov. 26 – State Rep. Steve Malagari, D-Montgomery, today announced that the Telford Borough Police Department was awarded a $50,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development for equipment upgrades.

“This grant will make a tangible difference in the lives of the Telford community and the dedicated officers who serve it,” Malagari said. “Investing in modern equipment ensures that our police department remains well equipped to meet the challenges of today while strengthening the bond of trust between law enforcement and the residents they serve.”

The grant will support the acquisition of several pieces of equipment, including:

  • A mobile sign-display trailer for traffic control.
  • Radar speed signs to address speeding concerns.
  • Laptop computers for improved field operations and reporting.
  • Earbud translation units to facilitate effective communication with non-English-speaking residents.
  • Ballistic shields to bolster officer safety in high-risk situations.
  • Tasers to provide officers with non-lethal means.

“I am proud to have advocated for this funding and will continue working to secure resources that enhance safety and improve the quality of life for everyone in our region,” Malagari added.
