Lansdale institutions receive laptops through Pennsylvania’s Digital Connectivity Technology Program

LANSDALE, Nov. 25 – State Rep. Steve Malagari, D-Montgomery, announced that two community institutions in Lansdale will receive a combined total of 225 laptops as part of Pennsylvania’s Digital Connectivity Technology Program.

“Investing in digital technology is a game-changer for our community,” said Malagari. “By providing laptops to organizations like Vietgroup Empowers and the North Penn School District, we are empowering learners with the tools they need to succeed in today’s interconnected world. These devices will help bridge the digital divide and give more people the chance to learn.”

The grants include 25 laptops for Vietgroup Empowers and 200 laptops for the North Penn School District. The program, administered by the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority (PBDA), aims to close the digital divide by providing technology to individuals who lack access to reliable, internet-enabled devices.

The Digital Connectivity Technology Program, supported by federal funding through the American Rescue Plan, has distributed over 9,100 laptops across Pennsylvania to libraries, schools, and other community organizations. This initiative is part of a broader effort by Gov. Josh Shapiro’s administration to ensure equitable access to high-speed internet for all Pennsylvanians.
