I hope you're well! In the last few weeks, we celebrated our first-ever Veterans Resource Fair and delivered new state funding for safer streets, local parks, food access, and more. You'll also find several upcoming events where my team and I can help you access services, save money, & more.
Here's the latest from our community:

ICYMI: Veterans Resource Fair
|
Thank you to everyone who attended our first Veterans Resource Fair! More than 40 community partners helped veterans learn about the services and support available to them. It was also wonderful to see everyone connecting, socializing, and enjoying lunch together. Thank you all for making this event such a success. We look forward to seeing you at the next one!

I'm proud to share that new state funding has been awarded to the 53rd Legislative District, supporting projects across our community. Here's what that funding will do for you:

Safer Streets in Lansdale
|
Safe streets are an essential pillar of strong communities. That's why I'm proud to share that intersections in Lansdale are getting an upgrade, thanks to $300,000 in state funding we advocated for in partnership with Senator Maria Collett (D-Montgomery). These intersection upgrades will help ensure safer, smoother traffic flow for all road users, including those with disabilities. This project was made possible by PennDOT, and you can read more about this award here.

Fighting Hunger & Food Waste
|
I'm beyond proud to announce more than $80,000 in state funding has been awarded to local food banks by the PA Department of Environmental Protection!
This money will help our local partners divert food waste and turn it into help for our neighbors in need. Read more about this award here.

Transitional Housing Opens in Lansdale
|
We officially opened Lansdale's first transitional housing facility this month. This 20-bed facility will offer round-the-clock support for adults experiencing homelessness in the greater North Penn area while helping them transition into permanent housing.
This facility is named Todi's Place of Hope in recognition of the $1 million contribution from the Todi family that made this possible. With this, and the tireless advocacy of folks on the local, county, and state levels, we now have a safety net for folks who fall on hard times.

Unclaimed Property Clinic
|
Does the state owe you money? The PA Treasury holds over $3 BILLION in unclaimed property, and my office is hosting an event to help you claim what's yours.
Unclaimed property is composed of all sorts of things–old bank accounts, insurance policies, uncashed checks, and more–and something as simple as a typo in your name can prevent this property from reaching you. At this event, we'll have staff on hand from the PA Treasury Department to help you search through the unclaimed property database and help put your money back in your hands.
See for yourself–search the unclaimed property database here.
