Kulik applauds $218,500 in grant funding for local fire and EMS companies
Grant funding can be used toward upgrades for facilities, equipment and training

CORAOPOLIS, Feb. 15 – More than $218,500 in state funding will support local fire and ambulance companies, state Rep. Anita Kulik, D-Allegheny, announced today.
"Through the dedication of our local fire and EMS companies, our communities are protected, and lives are saved,” Kulik said. “With these new investments, we affirm our commitment to supporting those who courageously serve and ensure that safety remains a cornerstone of our neighborhoods."
Local fire and EMS companies receiving the grants announced today include:
- Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Department - $14,812.
- Carnegie Volunteer Fire and Rescue - $11,172.
- Coraopolis Volunteer Fire Department - $14,423.
- Forest Grove Volunteer Fire Department - $16,951.
- Kennedy Township Independent Volunteer Fire Co. - $15,201.
- Kirwan Heights Volunteer Firemans Association, fire and EMS - $29,812.
- Moon Run Volunteer Fire Co. - $15,784.
- Neville Island General Volunteer Fire Department - $14,034.
- Presto Volunteer Fire Department - $16,562.
- Rennerdale Volunteer Fire Department - $14,423.
- Robinson Township Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 - $15,395.
- Stowe Township Volunteer Fire Department - $40,000.
The grants are from the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program, which is administered by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner. The grants can be used for facility construction or repair, equipment purchase or repair, debt reduction, and training.
