Krueger announces over $390,000 in state grants for Delco projects

HARRISBURG, Jan. 16 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger, D-Delaware, today announced that more than $390,000 in state grant funding is headed to Delaware County for projects in the 161st Legislative District.

The Commonwealth Financing Authority awarded the grants through the Greenways, Trails, and Recreation Program and Watershed Restoration Protection Program, which help organizations and municipalities fund projects that improve public parks, recreation areas, greenways, trails, and river conservation.

The following were awarded:

  • $75,000 for the Chester Creek Trail - Knowlton Road Trailhead Expansion.
  • $67,323 for Phase II of Nether Providence Parks Athletic Improvements.
  • $100,000 for Rose Valley Road Trail Project.
  • $150,000 for Phase II of the Stream Bank Restoration in Houston Park.

“Thanks to the hard work of Delco’s local municipal staff and dedicated elected officials, these important projects have received new grants that bring them one step closer to completion,” Krueger said. “These grants expand our recreational spaces and improve pedestrian safety. I’m proud to fight for funding for local projects.”
