Rep. Leanne Krueger April 21, 2022 | 11:05 AM
HARRISBURG, April 21 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger announced a $1 million grant has been awarded to Nether Providence Township for a sidewalk installation project.
The grant was among 64 projects awarded funding to improve transportation alternatives and enhance mobility and public accessibility across the state.
The funding will help Nether Providence Township install a 0.25-mile sidewalk along Providence Road, from Mother of Providence School to East Rose Valley Road.
“This is great news for Nether Providence Township. I’m pleased to see funding support work to improve pedestrian safety along a busy stretch of road in our community,” Krueger said.
The state awarded a total of $54.1 million through the Surface Transportation Block Grant program Set-Aside or Transportation Alternative Set-Aside. Funding for 43 of the projects was made possible by the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
