Krueger to host senior breakfast Sept. 10

FOLSOM, Aug. 25 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger will hold a senior breakfast on Friday, Sept. 10, to share helpful information and resources for older adults in the 161st Legislative District.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Brookhaven Municipal Center, 2 Cambridge Road, Brookhaven. Seating is limited, so registration is required by calling Krueger’s office at 610-534-6880.

“Our community has a wealth of information for older adults, and I look forward to sharing these valuable resources with seniors while they enjoy some pancakes,” said Krueger, D-Delaware. “We’ll have information about important topics such as identity theft and scams, the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program, SEPTA Key Senior ID Cards and more. We’ll also recognize those seniors who are celebrating a milestone birthday this year.”

Guest speakers slated for the event include Jack Stollsteimer, Delaware County district attorney; Chief Michael Vice of the Brookhaven Police Department; Dana Leahan, director of crime victim services at the Delaware County Victim Assistance Center; Rachel Ezzell Berry; register of wills; and Dr. Lisa O’Mahony from the Delaware County Health Department.

The District Attorney’s Office’s Mobile Drug Collection Unit will be on-site to collect unneeded medications for proper disposal. The COVID-19 vaccine will be available, as well as blood pressure screenings.

This scaled-back event will be held with COVID-19 safety precautions in place. Temperature screenings will be conducted, and masks must be worn except when guests are eating.
