Kim praises Sharina Johnson, founder of Arcana Recovery, during Ben Franklin Technology Partners funding presentation

HARRISBURG, Oct. 25 – Rep. Patty Kim, D-Dauphin, spoke Monday at the Ben Franklin Technology Partners funding presentation, highlighting the important work of Sharina Johnson and her company, Arcana Recovery.

According to their website, BFTP “provides critical funding, business and technical expertise, and access to a network of valuable resources that early-stage and established companies need to grow and succeed in the highly competitive worldwide marketplace.”

Johnson’s company Arcana Recovery was one of five companies highlighted as recipients of an investment from BFTP during today’s presentation. Arcana Recovery will receive a $100,000 investment from BFTP.

Founded in 2020, Arcana Recovery has developed a website and mobile app that helps those struggling with substance abuse quickly find essential resources that promote recovery. Johnson, an Army veteran, founded the company after she struggled with substance abuse, a battle she ultimately overcame.

Kim praised Johnson and her company for providing “an essential service [for the community], one that will help restore the foundations of wellness and pave the road to recovery.

“With the web and mobile app that Arcana has developed, those at risk of relapse have an outlet—and it is all thanks to Sharina’s hard work, dedication, and passion for this cause,” Kim said.
