HARRISBURG, Sept. 20 – A $125,000 state grant was awarded to Reservoir Park today, announced state Rep. Patty Kim, D-Dauphin.
“Reservoir Park hosts a lot of visitors every day, so I’m happy to see that it will receive some much-needed improvements,” said Kim. “Parks provide an invaluable resource to our communities and have a huge impact on the mental and physical health of our citizens. This funding will make Reservoir Park more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.”
The City of Harrisburg received the grant from the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Greenways, Trails and, Recreation Program for Phase IIB improvements.
Phase IIB of the proposed project is in accordance with the Reservoir Park Master Site Development Plan and will construct an intergenerational recreation area, including tot play structures and adult fitness equipment.
Additional improvements include the construction of walkways, including the conversion of Reservoir Drive into a pedestrian walkway, as well as stormwater management and landscaping upgrades.
