Hohenstein takes oath for second term, vows to continue fighting to put hardworking families first amid ongoing COVID-19 pandemic

HARRISBURG, Jan. 5 – State Rep. Joe Hohenstein affirmed his commitment to uphold the Constitution at the state Capitol today to begin his second term representing the riverwards and lower Northeast Philadelphia.

The noon ceremony marked the beginning of the 2021-22 session of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

"I am honored and excited to begin my next chapter as state representative of the 177th Legislative District," said Hohenstein, D-Phila. "With the COVID-19 pandemic still very much a threat, I will pick up where I left off in 2020 fighting to secure and connect small business owners, the unemployed and all other Pennsylvanians with the support, relief and resources they need to make it through this health crisis safely."

Hohenstein added he will also continue putting hardworking families first by working to raise the minimum wage, create good-paying jobs, make healthcare affordable for everyone and ensure all students have access to a quality education in a safe learning environment.

Hohenstein said his office can help with a variety of state-related services, including home heating, children’s health insurance, prescription drug and property tax/rent rebate assistance. His office phone number is 215-744-2600.
