Rep. Liz Hanbidge March 14, 2022 | 1:03 PM
HARRISBURG, March 14 – State Rep. Liz Hanbidge, D-Montgomery, today announced a $30,000 grant has been awarded to the Wissahickon Valley Historical Society.
The grant was awarded through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and will go toward repairs to the historic Franklinville School.
“Since 1858, the Franklinville School has withstood the test of time, and has remained an integral part of Montgomery County’s story for the last 164 years,” Hanbidge said. “These grant dollars will make certain that this historic building continues to be deeply woven into the fabric of our community for generations to come.”
The award will be used to offset the cost of necessary repairs to the building, including renovations to the roof, porches, and HVAC, along with cosmetic upgrades.
Anyone with questions may contact Hanbidge’s office at 610-277-3230.
