To close out Hunger Action Month in September, I played in the first-ever Capitol All-Stars Softball Game at Metro Bank Park in Harrisburg. It was a great opportunity to raise awareness about hunger while generating significant resources to help charities and nonprofits that are working to feed Pennsylvanians in need.

House and Senate members were divided into East and West teams --- not Republican or Democrat. I played with East team, but we were drubbed.

The game was a bipartisan effort and demonstrated how all of us can come together to fight for a good cause --- ending hunger in Pennsylvania.

More than 50 members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly took to the field to combat hunger in the commonwealth.

The game featured many stirring moments and patriotic tributes.
