Volunteer Work Day. Saturday, Sept. 5th, 9am - 12pm. Help us maintain our grounds! Be prepared to get wet and dirty. Bring a refillable water bottle. This event is rain or shine.

Introduction to Kayaking. Saturday, September 5th, 9 - 11am. Learn the basics of kayaking on beautiful Silver Lake. SLNC provides the kayaks and all other equipment. Open House for Fall & Year-round Children’s Programs. Saturday, Sept. 5th, 10am - 4pm. Participants will have an opportunity to meet some of the Staff for the Homeschool Series, School-year Camp Days, & After School Nature Classes, ask questions, get to know SLNC, and enter to win a special prize! Open House is FREE to attend! FREE Guided Walk on the SLNC Trails. Sundays, Sept. 13th & 20th, 2 - 3pm. Join certified Pennsylvania Master Naturalist, Patricia Merkel, for this leisurely and informative walk covering seasonal topics. Meet outside of the SLNC Visitors’ Building at the kiosk near the Parking Area. Free.
Bird Seed Sale Pick-up (for orders placed by 9/12). Saturday, Sept. 19th, 10am - 2pm. Bird watching is more fun when you can attract them to your own yard, so fill your feeders with one of our special mixes. Friends of SLNC Members receive a 10% discount on all Bird Seed Orders. Earthship Tours. Saturday, Sept. 26th, 1 - 2:30pm. FREE. The SLNC Earthship will be open to the public today! Stop by to visit and learn about these interesting, sustainable structures!
Day-off from School Camp. Monday, Sept. 28th, 9am - 4pm. Why only have Camp in the summer when you can do it in all seasons?! Our School-year Camp Days are scheduled for days when most schools are off. Each Camp Day provides exciting seasonal adventures for your child (5 - 14 years old). Staff and Campers spend the days exploring the forest, swamps, and marsh in all weather.
2020-21 School-year Camp Days to be offered on: 9/28/20; 11/3/20; 11/11/20; 12/29/20; 12/30/20; 1/18/21; 2/15/21; 4/1/21; 4/2/21; 5/18/21.

Home School Enrichment Series for Fall. Wednesdays, September 23rd through October 28th. 10am to 12pm OR 2 to 4pm. SLNC’s Homeschool Enrichment Series is an option for families who take a different approach to educating their children. This 6-week program provides an opportunity for children (5 - 14 years old) to get hands-on experience within the STEM disciplines without formal constraints. Each of the lessons are developed with the PA Standard Aligned System (SAS) in mind and ensure that children will excel in all settings.
Friends of SLNC Members: $100.00 for the 6-week session or $20.00 per class on a class-by-class basis.
Non-members: $120.00 for the 6-week session/ $25.00 per class on a class-by-class basis.

After School Nature Classes SIX-Week Series for Fall – Offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays, from 3pm to 5pm! THREE different classes per week! Sign up for one day or all three! The Monday Sessions will run from 9/21 through 11/2 (skipping 9/28); the Tuesday Sessions will run from 9/22 through 10/27; the Thursday Sessions will run from 9/24 through 10/29.
Looking for a way to keep your children (5 - 14 years old) active and entertained after their virtual school day? Our After School Nature Classes aim to allow kids to socialize in a safe way while exploring the outdoors (and using that pent up energy that’s been building up all day)! Spots are filling up fast so register soon!
The program is drop-off only, and is run by SLNC Environmental Educators. Parents are not required to stay on site, but are welcome to hike the Trails on their own during this time.
Friends of SLNC Members: $100.00 for one 6-week session. Non-members: $120.00 for one 6-week session.

Yoga Classes ~ normally held on Thursdays are temporarily postponed.
The Silver Lake Nature Center, where learning comes naturally, is a 264-acre Nature Preserve located in Bristol Township, Bucks County. It is a facility of the Bucks County Department of Parks & Recreation with additional funding and staffing provided by the Friends of Silver Lake Nature Center. SLNC is home to over 40 plant and animal species listed as rare, threatened, or endangered in Pennsylvania. Participation in programs helps protect these species and their habitats.
