My Back-to-School Kickoff

My heart was full to see so many of our neighbors at our Back-to-School Kickoff! Despite the rain, our community turned out to ensure that their kids are set to start the new school year with what they need and feeling their best.

We distributed over 400 backpacks filled with school supplies, provided 77 haircuts, and had an abundance of state and local resources available all in one place.

Thank you to all those who came out, the Masonic Lodge for graciously allowing us to use their space due to the rain, the Junior League of Reading for collaborating in organizing, and the 50 community groups and organizations who helped us put together such a wonderful event!
In addition, we still have leftover backpacks with school supplies available for students, and teacher appreciation bags with supplies! If a student or teacher in your life still needs supplies, please contact my office for pickup.
