Rep. Frank Burns July 25, 2014
HARRISBURG, July 25 -- State Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria/Somerset, announced that Conemaugh Township in Somerset County will receive a state grant from the Host Municipal Inspector Grant Program.
The $35,734 grant will be awarded to reimburse the county for half of the cost of employing a host municipal inspector.
"This funding will help to defray the costs of employing an inspector to ensure that residents of Conemaugh Township are living in a healthy and safe environment," Burns said.
The Host Municipal Inspector Grant Program, within the state Department of Environmental Protection, provides funding for municipalities that host municipal waste landfills, resource recovery (waste to energy) facilities and commercial hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal facilities.
