Rep. Frank Burns September 3, 2013
HARRISBURG, Sept. 3 – State Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria/Somerset, announced that Cambria County has been awarded a $26,437 state grant from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.
The grant will be used to support initiatives to prevent underage and dangerous alcohol use.
"These grants are just one way the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board gives back to the communities in which their wine and spirits stores are located," Burns said. "The money provided is used in the communities for a variety of efforts, from law enforcement training to developing college or community-prevention strategies, all designed to combat underage drinking."
In all, the PLCB received 115 applications for the more than $2 million it will hand out statewide over two years.
