Rep. Frank Burns January 28, 2013
HARRISBURG, Jan. 28 – State Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria/Somerset, announced that the state Department of Environmental Protection has awarded the Cambria County Solid Waste Authority with a $2,616 state grant.
The grant reimburses the authority for half of the costs associated with developing and operating a household hazardous waste collection event last year.
"This grant helps the county hold these collection events to help us dispose of paint products, household cleaners, pesticides and other potentially toxic items that could harm our environment if not disposed of properly," Burns said.
The grant is part of the state's Household Pollution Prevention Grant Program.
