Rep. Frank Burns January 2, 2013
HARRISBURG, Jan. 2 – State Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria/Somerset, said the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has awarded $2,555 in funding to Keep Cambria County Beautiful.
Available through DEP's Small Business and Household Pollution Prevention Program, the funding is a 50 percent reimbursement for the cost of a household hazardous waste collection event held in Tunnelhill Borough and Cambria and Summerhill townships in September.
"The beautification and cleanup work being done by Keep Cambria County Beautiful is extremely important to the residents of Cambria County and to the environment," Burns said. "This grant will serve as confirmation that this organization's work is valuable and appreciated."
The Small Business and Household Pollution Prevention Program provides grants to counties, or sponsors such as corporations and trade associations, to develop and implement pollution prevention education programs for households and small businesses.
