Rep. Frank Burns August 20, 2024 | 10:18 AM
EBENSBURG, Aug. 20 – A total of $1.1 million has been awarded from the state Transportation Department to fund road and bridge improvements in Middle Taylor and Lower Yoder townships, according to state Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria.
Middle Taylor Township received $100,000 to pave a portion of Waterfall Road, while Lower Yoder Township will use its $1,007,940 to replace the Tremont Bridge, which currently is closed. “This funding will help the townships pay for these necessary projects to improve transportation in the region,” Burns said. “These grants will get these projects done while saving local taxpayer dollars.” The funds are distributed through PennDOT’s Multimodal Transportation Fund, which provides grants to improve transportation assets that enhance communities, pedestrian safety and transit revitalization to ensure a safe and reliable system of transportation in the commonwealth.
