Burns to host annual Senior Fair Friday, May 31 at the Bottle Works

EBENSBURG, May 14 – State Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria, will host his annual Senior Fair for Cambria County’s senior citizens from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 31 at the Bottle Works, 411 Third Ave., Johnstown.

Burns hosts this annual Senior Fair as a way to provide seniors with a wealth of information about their health and well-being.

“I always look forward to hosting this Senior Fair,” Burns said. “It’s an event that’s geared toward providing our seniors with the most up-to-date information on a variety of services and state-related programs.”

Attendees will be provided information on senior services, such as the recently expanded Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program and PACE/PACENET, the state’s prescription assistance programs. There also will be information available on housing, insurance and transportation, and the state Treasurer’s Office will be there to help seniors see if they have any unclaimed property with the state. Free blood pressure checks also will be available, as well as refreshments, games and prizes. In addition, Burns and his staff will be in attendance to answer questions and provide direction on a host of government-related programs and services.

RSVPs are suggested by May 24. Those attending or who would like more information on this event may call Burns’ office at 814-472-8021.
