HARRISBURG, April 26 – State Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria, today announced a combined $1,291,614 in grants for area school districts and nonpublic schools in School Safety Grant awards.
The grants are from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency to address school violence and improve school safety and security.
“No child should have to worry about their safety at school, nor should parents have to worry about their kid’s safety either,” Burns said. “Schools should be places of learning where students can be free to achieve their full potentials. I’ve fought in the past for funding for our schools, and I am committed to continuing to do so.”
Receiving awards:
The funds will advance the goal of ensuring that all Pennsylvania students can learn in safe, healthy school environments by helping school entities address basic safety needs.
