Burns: Security, substance abuse education grants available

Funding available to continue fight against substance abuse

EBENSBURG, Jan. 20 – State Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria, is urging organizations or programs that work to curb substance abuse to consider applying for several state grant programs that are now available.

“As your state representative, I am dedicated to making sure Cambria County receives its fair share of state investment and support,” Burns said. “That’s why I’m urging local groups and nonprofits to consider applying for these grants – we need this funding making a difference here, not being spent in the big cities.”

Informing and encouraging government, nonprofit and other eligible entities to apply for available grants is one of Burns’ top priorities – and his office stands ready to help those that wish to apply. Since taking office Burns has secured more than $200 million in state grants for local projects and programs, funding everything from anti-bulling in school programs, to job training and infrastructure projects.
