EBENSBURG, Oct. 30 – The construction of the new Conemaugh Health System Ebensburg Outpatient Center will be a boost to the region, said Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria, bringing new jobs and economic vitality to the Ebensburg area.
“I am thrilled to have been able to support this important project by assisting Conemaugh in securing the state grant funding that has helped them bring this project to fruition,” Burns said. “This is an ambitious project which will be a revitalizing experience for this area, by putting into use a currently abandoned building and bringing jobs to our community.”
Conemaugh has scheduled a groundbreaking tomorrow for the 40,000-square-foot facility. Located at the intersection of Route 219 and Route 22, the new outpatient center will replace Conemaugh’s older center and provide more doctor and health care services to a larger area. The larger building also will allow for future expansion and improved medical care and diagnostic services in the region.
"This new facility will allow Cambria County residents to access world-class health care in their own community. This will not only help keep residents healthy and vibrant, but will also make our region more attractive for other business development," Burns said. "Health care is a major industry and one of the keys to the region’s economic future. We all know that our region has been decimated by the demise of the coal and steel industries, and diversification like this is key to the rebuilding process. I’m proud to have been an early and active supporter of this project.”
When completed, the Conemaugh Ebensburg Outpatient Center will provide a one-stop, convenient location for a variety of outpatient services, consolidating and expanding existing imaging and lab services, as well as primary and specialty care physician offices. Construction is expected to take about 12 months to complete.
