ERIE, April 12 – In an effort to improve resources for people in drug and alcohol recovery, Pennsylvania approved the Erie County Office of Drug and Alcohol Abuse, and five other organizations, for state funding to enhance community-driven services, Rep. Ryan Bizzarro said.
“The Erie County Office of Drug and Alcohol Abuse knows what’s working in our community and they are positioned to direct this money where it is most effective,” Bizzarro said.
The Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs announced $4 million in funding for the establishment of regional recovery hubs to improve and promote recovery for people throughout Pennsylvania.
The grants announced today can total up to $400,000 and will be awarded for the 15-month period beginning on July 1, 2023.
EDIT: The PA Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs confirmed in August the total amount awarded to the Erie County Office of Drug and Alcohol Abuse was $310,000.
Today’s announcement continues Bizzarro’s efforts to allocate state money to properly fund schools, nonprofits, first responders, regional organizations and local businesses in his district and Erie County. So far this year, Bizzarro has helped secure more than $8.4 million for local projects and investments.
