Rep. Brandon Markosek October 27, 2022 | 1:43 PM
MONROEVILLE, Oct. 27 – State Rep. Brandon Markosek, D-Allegheny, announced today a $250,000 grant for the Monroeville Baseball & Softball Association.
Markosek said the funding will help the MBSA improve the infrastructure, facilities and resources at Monroeville Community Park West Baseball and Softball Complex. The planned improvements include replacing the field’s turf, safety netting and fencing, equipment and startup costs to install scoreboards and batting cages.
“MBSA has been growing the love for the sports of baseball and softball while also teaching the value of good sportsmanship to young athletes,” Markosek said. “Securing this funding will give young men and women quality tools to improve their skills and talents at great facilities. I’m pleased to have helped bring this money back to our area to support our young people, regardless of socioeconomic status.”
The grant funding was awarded by the Department of Community and Economic Development.
