PITTSBURGH, Feb. 11 – Seven fire and EMS companies in the 27th Legislative District have been awarded grants totaling $97,654 through the state’s Fire and Emergency Medical Services Grant program, announced state Rep. Dan Deasy, D-Allegheny.
"Our fire and EMS companies provide life-sustaining support to our communities,” Deasy said. “They are vital to our everyday safety and these grants are just a portion of state dollars coming back to assist them in continuing to serve. I will always fight to bring these dollars home so they can have the equipment, facilities and training they need to be the best.”
The following organizations received grants:
Administered by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner, the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program provides funding for volunteer and career fire companies, emergency medical services, and rescue squads across Pennsylvania. Grants can be used for facility upgrades, equipment, debt reduction, training, and certification.
