PITTSBURGH, Feb. 16 – Rep. Arvind Venkat, D-Allegheny, announced more than $120,630 in state grant funding for emergency medical services and fire companies in the communities he represents, which will assist EMS providers and firefighters with responding to emergencies.
The funding from the Office of the State Fire Commissioner includes:
“By allocating these grants, we ensure that our EMS providers and firefighters have the ability to operate,” Venkat said. “Our EMS providers and firefighters work to save lives, and this funding will allow them to continue their crucial work.”
Act 91 of 2020 authorized the Fire Company and Medical Services Grant Program until June 30. Recently, Gov. Josh Shapiro proposed increasing the program’s funding to $60 million.
