Pittsburgh to receive $1,792,800 from PennDOT

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 28 – Rep. La’Tasha D. Mayes, D-Allegheny, announced that the City of Pittsburgh will receive more than $1.79 million from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to address safety issues.
The funding from PennDOT’s Multimodal Transportation Fund will be used to redesign and upgrade facilities at the intersection of Liberty Avenue and the Bloomfield Bridge.
“Thanks to this grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the City of Pittsburgh will improve infrastructure for motorists and pedestrians who utilize the Bloomfield Bridge, which connects Bloomfield and Polish Hill,” Mayes said. “Through this project at the intersection of Liberty Avenue and the Bloomfield Bridge, we may ensure safe transportation is accessible for all residents.”
PennDOT will accept additional applications for grants from the Multimodal Transportation Fund starting on Monday, Sept. 25. Applications are due by 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10.
The MTF allocates funding to ensure transportation is available to all Pennsylvanians.
