Will improve two public spaces in the City of Pittsburgh

HARRISBURG, March 17 – State Rep. La’Tasha D. Mayes, D-Allegheny, announced today that more than $750,000 in state grants is being awarded to two local organizations.
“These grants will make improvements and renovations to two structures in our community that bring social and cultural value to my neighbors,” Mayes said. “One of them being the Latin American Cultural Center and another being a public space, they both provide utility for those who reside in East Liberty and the improvements will only give them more utility.”

The grants are made possible by the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act (Act 71 of 2004) and provide for the distribution of gaming revenues through the Commonwealth Financing Authority to support projects in the public interest within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
