Venkat: $250,000 in state funding awarded to support local road project

Will improve pedestrian safety and make upgrades to roadways

HARRISBURG, March 17 – State Rep. Arvind Venkat, D-Allegheny, announced today a state grant will fund Phase 2 road and pedestrian safety improvements on Pearce Mill Road located in McCandless and Pine townships.

“This grant will improve pedestrian safety and make Pearce Mill Road safer to drive on, improving the infrastructure of our community. I am proud that our local leadership, my legislator colleagues, and I were able to bring this project funding to fruition,” Venkat said.

The grant was awarded by the state’s Commonwealth Financing Authority, an independent state agency responsible for administering Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus programs.
