Grants will address streambanks and watersheds in Franklin Park Borough

HARRISBURG, Jan. 12 – State Rep. Arvind Venkat, D-Allegheny, announced today that Franklin Park has been awarded $390,900 in grants to address environmental concerns.
This state funding, provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Growing Greener Plus Program, includes:
“Maintaining streambanks and watersheds is a key issue for many communities,” Venkat said. “As water quality becomes an issue everywhere, the importance of watersheds and streambanks will only become more essential to ensuring a sustainable ecosystem and human well-being.”
Growing Greener is the largest single investment of state funds in Pennsylvania’s history to address critical environmental concerns. Grantees have up to three years to implement their projects.
