Ensure you Continue Receiving my Emails
|
I hope you find my weekly emails to be informative and helpful. I strive to keep the residents of our community up to date about what's going on in Harrisburg and at home.
That’s why I’d like to remind you that Pennsylvania House rules direct when I can contact you leading up to an election.
We’re nearing the 60-day restricted period that will begin on September 4 and last until the November 3 General Election. If you aren’t opted in, I will be unable to keep you informed about important issues that affect all of us, including:
- Updates on legislation
- News and events in the district
- Government programs and services
You can ensure you continue receiving my emails without interruption by visiting here.

Protecting Vaccine Access in Pennsylvania
|
As the only physician-legislator in our General Assembly, I always prioritize advancing the public’s health, including promoting immunization as we face a growing measles outbreak.
|
I have introduced legislation that would ensure access to and insurance coverage of vaccines, regardless of federal policy changes. This week, I joined ABC27 to discuss the rapid spread of measles and falling vaccinations rates in our state. You can watch my conversation in the video above and read more here.

Fifty Years of the Sri Venkateswara Temple – and other District Updates
|
Fifty years ago, the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Pittsburgh was established as the first free-standing Hindu Temple built by Indian immigrants in North America. It is a landmark and pilgrimage site for the Hindu community in our region and from across the US and Canada.
For me and my family, the SV Temple has been a central part of our lives. It was a great privilege to bridge my role as a state legislator and a part of the Hindu- and Indian-American communities to bring so many of my fellow elected officials to the SV Temple for this event.

It was an honor to recognize the 80th anniversary of the Ohio Township Volunteer Fire Company and take part in the dedication of a new fire truck.
As an ER Doc who has worked with firefighters my entire career, I am very grateful for their bravery and service to keep Ohio Township safe. As a legislator, I always prioritize support of our first responders, including funding for the new truck dedicated at this ceremony.
|
My staff and I celebrated the hard work that our summer interns Ava and Evie have done for our office and community as they prepare to head back to college.
Thank you for being a great part of the team. We know that your futures are bright!
|
Mark your calendar! My next shredding event to help you safely and securely dispose of sensitive documents will be on Saturday, September 12th at Ohio Township Community Park (325 Nicholson Rd., Sewickley).
We will be on-site from 10 to 11:30 AM or until the truck is filled. Each car may bring up to two boxes of paper for disposal.
